HANDYMAN SERVICES

What can we do in one visit?

We assemble furniture, hang shelves and mirrors, fit blinds and curtain poles, adjust doors and carry out minor repairs. We can combine suitable tasks in one visit; plumbing faults, electrical work and appliance repairs are assessed for the appropriate trade.

LONDON & M25

Where can we arrange a handyman?

Our handyman services cover London and locations within the M25. We confirm your postcode, the work required and appointment options when you enquire. Call +44 20 3404 4415 to discuss a repair or a property maintenance visit.

NO GUESSWORK

The job agreed. The details checked.

Your visit

We assess the job

We discuss the repair, the item being fitted and the condition of the existing surface. Photos help us identify damaged hinges, awkward fixings or parts that may need replacing. For a longer list, we establish which tasks are essential and which can follow if time and materials allow.

Your visit

We confirm the arrangements

We agree the tasks, expected charges and appointment before booking. We establish who is supplying brackets, replacement fittings, paint and other materials, and whether collection is needed. We also check the floor, lift access, parking arrangements and any building rules that affect unloading, drilling or working hours.

Your visit

We carry out the repairs

On arrival, we review the agreed jobs and protect the immediate working area where needed. We check fixing positions and the surfaces we will work on before drilling or fitting. If we find concealed damage, unsuitable parts or a task that needs another trade, we explain it before proceeding with additional work.

Your visit

We check and hand over

We check that doors and drawers move as intended, fitted items are secured and the agreed repair has been completed. We clear debris from the immediate work area and review the finished jobs with you or your appointed contact. We explain any outstanding items, drying time or replacement parts needed for a further visit.

WHAT WE DO

Repairs, fitting and finishing.

We carry out everyday repairs and installations in houses, flats and business premises. The service pages below cover individual jobs in more detail; we can also discuss a combined list when you call.

Furniture assembly in a protected bedroom

Handyman service

Furniture assembly

We assemble flat-pack beds, wardrobes, chests of drawers, desks and shelving units for homes and workplaces. We check the components against the instructions, put the frame together, align doors and drawers and tighten the fittings. Where the manufacturer requires a wall restraint, we check the fixing surface and agree how it will be secured.

We confirm the product model, the number of items and the room where they will stand before the visit. Large wardrobes and heavy components may require additional help or space to assemble. Our furniture assembly service covers single items and several pieces in the same booking.

Plumber repairing a kitchen tap

Handyman service

Minor plumbing repairs

We repair dripping taps, replace suitable tap fittings and attend to accessible minor leaks around sinks and basins. We inspect the fitting and the means of isolating the water before replacing a part. Once the repair is complete, we restore the supply and check the affected connection for leaks.

We distinguish a small fitting repair from a wider plumbing fault. Concealed leaks, damaged pipework and heating or hot-water problems need assessment by the appropriate specialist. Our plumbing service is the route for those enquiries; gas appliances are not included in an ordinary handyman visit.

Decorator painting a blue interior wall

Handyman service

Painting and decorating

We paint walls, ceilings, skirting boards, door frames and interior doors, including touch-ups after minor repairs. We protect nearby floors and fittings, prepare sound surfaces, fill small defects and sand the areas needed for the agreed finish. We confirm the colour, paint type and materials before starting.

A small touch-up and repainting a complete room involve different preparation and drying times. Existing paint may not match a new patch exactly, and damaged or damp surfaces need assessment before decoration. We discuss these points at booking. For room painting, wallpapering and larger decorating work, see our painters and decorators.

Two installers mounting a television

Handyman service

TV mounting

We install wall brackets for televisions after checking the screen, bracket specification and wall construction. We agree the viewing height, mark the fixing positions and check for services before drilling. We secure the bracket using an appropriate fixing method, mount the television and check its position and movement.

We establish the television model, size and weight and whether a bracket is already supplied. We also discuss cable routing: a surface-mounted cable cover is different work from concealing cables within a wall. Moving sockets requires an electrician. Our TV mounting service explains the installation work we can assess.

Curtain pole fitting at a sash window

Handyman service

Curtain and blind fitting

We install curtain poles, tracks and blinds, including roller, Roman, Venetian and vertical blinds. We check the window opening, mounting position and the clearance needed for the curtain or blind to move. We then fit the brackets, secure the pole, track or blind and check the operation.

We confirm measurements and the supplied product before booking, including whether it is being fitted inside or outside the recess. The fixing approach depends on the wall or lintel and any existing holes. We fit supplied safety devices in line with the product instructions. See our curtain and blind installation service for these jobs.

Handyman installing an oak shelf

Handyman service

Shelving and wall fittings

We install shelves, pictures, mirrors, hooks and other agreed wall fittings. We check the weight of the item, its intended use and whether the fixing position is masonry, timber, plasterboard or another material. We mark out the position, check for concealed services and choose suitable fixings for the assessed surface.

We replace loose brackets where the surrounding surface can support a sound repair. If old holes or damaged plaster need making good, we discuss that work before fitting the item again. Our general maintenance work also includes small adjustments and replacements around the home. Discuss a handyman repair if a damaged fitting needs attention.

Handyman adjusting a timber door hinge

Handyman service

Door repairs and odd jobs

We adjust sticking internal doors, tighten handles, realign cupboard doors and replace suitable worn hinges or minor fittings. We check whether the problem is a loose fixing, an alignment issue or damage to the door or frame before agreeing the repair. We check the opening and closing action afterwards.

We also replace small household fittings and attend to the loose handles, missing fixings and minor defects that accumulate in an occupied property. Fire doors, structural damage and specialist security work need the appropriate assessment and competence. Our odd jobs service covers small repairs that can be grouped with other suitable tasks.

Appliance professional inspecting a washing machine

Handyman service

Appliance repair enquiries

We take repair enquiries for washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, fridges and freezers. We ask for the make, model, fault symptoms and any error code so the work can be assessed before arranging the appropriate technician. Parts availability and the condition of the appliance affect what can be repaired.

An appliance fault is not treated as an extra odd job during an unrelated handyman booking. Electrical appliance repairs, refrigerant work and gas appliance work require the relevant competence or qualifications. Our appliance repair page covers the equipment we accept enquiries for; we confirm suitability when discussing the fault.

Handyman service

Electrical and specialist work

We keep electrical enquiries separate from general fitting and repair jobs. Socket changes, lighting installations, fixed wiring faults, new circuits and testing need a competent electrician; some work also requires Building Regulations notification and certification. We confirm the required trade and documentation rather than including those tasks in an ordinary handyman visit.

Our electrician service is the route for electrical work. Work on gas fittings and gas appliances must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer qualified for that work. We do not present a handyman appointment as a substitute for gas work, structural alterations, fire-door work or other specialist inspections.

COMBINING SMALL REPAIRS

One example. Four agreed jobs.

Two fitting jobs · 50% of this list

We can plan a shelf installation and a curtain pole fitting together when the products and suitable fixings are available.

One assembly job · 25% of this list

We assemble a bedside cabinet in the same room, using the supplied components and manufacturer’s instructions.

One repair · 25% of this list

We adjust a loose cupboard door and check the hinges. We agree the order of work before starting the combined visit.

Illustrative four-task booking: bar lengths show the number of tasks, not time, cost or completion rates. Combining work depends on the trade, access and materials; four tasks do not imply a fixed-length visit.

LOCAL HANDYMAN LONDON

Property repairs across London.

We arrange property repairs across London and locations within the M25, covering central, north, east, south and west London. We check your postcode with the job details, rather than assuming that every location has the same appointment availability. In flats and managed buildings, we account for entry arrangements, lifts, loading restrictions and agreed working hours.

We confirm coverage and appointment options when you enquire.

START WITH YOUR POSTCODE

One property. One agreed list.

We repair, install, assemble and replace the agreed items. We confirm the tasks, materials and access arrangements before your visit.

Homes and rented properties

For homeowners, we repair everyday defects and install the fittings that are ready to go up. For tenants, we confirm the authorised work and access arrangements; landlord or managing-agent permission may be needed for alterations or drilling. We agree who can approve changes and who is responsible for the booking and payment.

Landlords and letting agents

We work through agreed maintenance lists in occupied rentals and between tenancies. We can combine minor door repairs, replacement fittings, furniture assembly and decorating touch-ups where practical. We establish the property contact, entry arrangements and the person authorised to approve extra work. Statutory gas and electrical inspections remain separate specialist appointments.

Offices and commercial premises

We assemble office furniture, fit agreed shelving and blinds, adjust doors and carry out small property maintenance jobs in commercial interiors. We discuss occupied areas, building rules and permitted working times before arranging the visit. Electrical systems, fire doors, structural alterations and specialist equipment are assessed separately; a general maintenance booking does not replace those services.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Questions about your visit.

Our local handyman service starts with the work you need completed. We can discuss a single repair, a longer maintenance list or a job that requires a specialist trade.

Can you assemble furniture and fit shelves in the same visit?

We can combine these jobs when the products, fixing surfaces and available working space are suitable. We review the complete list first, including the furniture model, shelf dimensions and any other repairs. We confirm which tasks fit the booking and whether any parts or additional help are needed; the number of jobs alone does not determine the time required.

How do you price a handyman visit in London?

We discuss the tasks and assess the information you provide before confirming the quote or charging basis. Materials, collection time, parking, VAT and any minimum charge must be clarified as applicable. The calculator uses demonstration rates of £40, £60 and £80 per hour; those figures are not our tariff and must not be used as a booking price.

Will you bring replacement parts and fixings?

We bring tools for the agreed work and establish the materials separately. We confirm whether you are supplying the item or whether parts need to be sourced. Model numbers, dimensions and photos help identify compatible replacements. We agree any sourcing costs before purchasing; we do not assume that a generic hinge, tap cartridge or bracket will fit every product.

Can you work on plasterboard walls and tiled surfaces?

We assess the surface, the load and the intended fixing position before accepting the installation. Plasterboard, masonry, timber and tile require different fixing methods. We may need more information or an on-site assessment where the construction or condition is unclear. If the wall cannot support the proposed item safely, we explain the problem and discuss the available options.

Can tenants, landlords and letting agents arrange the work?

We accept enquiries from each and establish who can authorise the tasks and any changes. For rented or managed properties, we confirm access, the responsible contact and any required permissions before alterations or drilling. We can work from an agreed maintenance list, but gas safety checks, electrical inspections and other statutory requirements need the relevant specialist appointment.

Does a handyman booking include electrical or gas work?

No. We keep general repairs separate from electrical installation, testing and gas work. A competent electrician must carry out electrical tasks; notifiable work also needs the appropriate certification or Building Regulations process. Work on gas fittings and appliances requires a Gas Safe registered engineer qualified for that work. We confirm the appropriate service instead of treating these as ordinary odd jobs.

How do I book, and do you cover my postcode?

Call +44 20 3404 4415 with the postcode and a description of the work. We confirm how to share photos, measurements or product details, then discuss materials, charges and appointment options. We cover London and locations within the M25, subject to confirming the address and suitable availability. If a repair is urgent, tell us when you call; an arrival time is not assumed.
